The Japan Society for the Study of Hypertension in
Pregnancy (JSSHP) have been established in 1980 as a
branch of International Society for the Study of
Hypertension in Pregnancy (ISSHP) .
About six hundred members
(556 persons, 13 supporting companies) are registered
to the JSSHP at present.
The committee holds annual
congress and publishes a scientific journal.
In 1998, the11th World
Congress of the ISSHP was held at Kobe by the efforts
of the members of JSSHP, and was the first congress of
the ISSHP held in Asia.
The aim of JSSHP is
attributed to make remarkable progress in health and
welfare of pregnant women through basic and clinical
investigations, widening knowledge and supporting
young investigators who are dedicated in the research
on Pregnancy-induced Hypertension (PIH).
The society established a
new criteria and classification of PIH in 2004, which
was based on data collected through nation-wide survey
on the disease. This work has been officially adopted
by Japan Society of Ogstetrics and Gynecology since
2005.
Furthermore, the society
published a guideline for the management of PIH
recently. This has been widely accepted by healthcare
providers working in the clinical settings of maternal
and fetal medicine in the nation. |
